Rostec State Corporation debuts first show the latest Sarma high-mobility multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS). Premiere of the system taken place at World Defense Show 2026, an international defense and security event, in Riyadh at Rosoboronexport (included in Rostec) exposition. The 300mm Sarma is mounted on the 8×8 all-wheel-drive chassis and is able to effectively engage a wide range of targets — enemy personnel, artillery, armored vehicles, air defense systems, etc.
“High mobility is one of the features of the new combat vehicle. It is able to take its fire position in just 3 minutes and to leave it in the same time. The Sarma is equipped with an advanced automated guidance and fire control system. The system can use both well-proven jet projectiles for the Smerch and the latest guided jet projectiles for the Tornado-S. The MLRS is able to fire the whole rocket salvo just in 18 seconds,” said Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of Weapons, Ammunition and Special Chemicals Cluster of Rostec.
The combat vehicle crew consists of 3 persons. The Sarma is designed to take its position, carry out all preparation and produce fire without leaving the cab. It is the armored cab that protects the crew against fragments and armor-piercing incendiary bullets. The vehicle can be also operated from a remote control panel in a shelter. Unlike the Tornado-S and Smerch having the same caliber, the Sarma is equipped with a launcher with 6 instead of 12 rails, which considerably exceeds mobility without compromising the key operational effectiveness parameters. The vehicle develops a speed on highway up to 95 km/h and has a cruising range of 1000 km.
