L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has delivered its 3 million M734A1 Multi-Option Fuze for Mortars (MOFM) to the U.S. Army, marking a significant milestone in support of U.S. and allied military readiness. The M734A1 is the U.S. Army’s newest-generation, NATO-standard multi-option fuze, providing unmatched capability for 60 mm, 81 mm and 120 mm high explosive mortar cartridges. Designed to replace the legacy M734 fuze, the M734A1 introduces improved proximity accuracy alongside advanced safety enhancements, including an apex sensor that increases overhead protection during operations.
“L3Harris has delivered reliable and advanced mortar fuzing solutions to our armed forces and allies for more than 25 years,” said Scott Alexander, President, Missile Propulsion, Missile Solutions, L3Harris. “Reaching the 3 millionth delivery of the M734A1 reflects our team’s expertise and our commitment to quality in support of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps and our NATO allies.”

Its multi-option capability allows warfighters to select tailored height-of-burst (HOB) modes—7 feet for 60/81 mm mortars and 14 feet for 120 mm mortars—enabling optimized effects against different targets and mission scenarios. The fuze also integrates two environmental safety features to ensure secure handling and operation under varied combat conditions. Fully compliant with MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-331, and MIL-STD-333 standards, as well as NATO STANAG 4187, 4157, and 2916 requirements, the M734A1 is officially type-classified for use with U.S. and NATO-standard high explosive (HE) mortar cartridges, reinforcing interoperability and operational safety across allied forces.
