Serco has secured a task order under the U.S. Army’s Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services (RS3) contract vehicle to advance the Command Post Modernization (CPMod) program. Building on its support for the initiative since 2019, the international government services contractor will deliver mobile, scalable, and agile command and control capabilities to tactical formations. To execute the operational expansion, the firm plans to recruit more than 200 personnel to oversee program management, engineering, system integration, testing, logistics, training, and sustainment across potential operational deployments.

The scope of work centers on enhancing battlefield command structures through vehicle integration and infrastructure installation. Serco will fabricate and install foundational A-kit components—the necessary structural and electrical infrastructure to accommodate mission equipment—onto tactical vehicle platforms. Additionally, the company will manage comprehensive logistics and fielding activities to ensure seamless integration into tactical units, directly aiding the U.S. Army’s effort to transform commander operations on the modern battlefield.

This award reinforces Serco’s broader global defense portfolio, following a series of major international contract wins. Recent awards include a £147 million contract for U.S. Navy surface ship support, a $97 million single-award IDIQ for U.S. Navy Submarine High Data Rate antenna systems, and an £80 million deal for Royal Australian Navy synthetic warfare training. The company has also expanded its footprint across Commonwealth forces, securing a CAD490 million contract for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Future Aircrew Training program, alongside major UK Ministry of Defence contracts spanning British Army marine vessel sustainment, RAF Fylingdales radar maintenance, Royal Navy maritime services, and a tri-service recruitment contract valued up to £1.5 billion.

Headquartered in Hook, Hampshire, Serco Group plc operates across defense, health, space, justice, and transport sectors in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. Tracing its origins back to 1929 as RCA Services Limited, the firm established its defense credentials supporting the British War Office during World War II and managing Cold War radar and sonar infrastructure. Following a management buyout and rebranding in 1987, the FTSE 250-listed company expanded beyond core engineering services to establish itself as a primary defense contractor for Allied armed forces worldwide.
