EDGE, one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defence groups, has concluded a highly successful week participating for the first time at LIMA 2023, one of Asia’s largest aerospace and maritime exhibitions. The group displayed an impressive range of products, completing several agreements, and launching a new naval vessel. EDGE’s participation at LIMA 2023 highlighted the importance of its well established and highly valued relationship with Malaysia, as well as those with key markets across Southeast Asia. As a committed regional partner, EDGE boasted a significant presence at the five-day event, garnering the attention of prospective customers, dignitaries from around the world, and several royal delegations. EDGE was honoured to welcome to its stand His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, King of Malaysia who visited with His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; His Royal Highness Sultan Sallehuddin Badlishah, the Sultan of Kedah; His Excellency Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia; Dato’ Seri Mohamad Hasan, Malaysia’s Minister of Defence; and several Malaysian governors and heads of state, who were all received by Mansour AlMulla, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group.

Demonstrating its strategy of partnership and knowledge sharing, EDGE Group entity CARACAL, a world-renowned small arms manufacturer, signed an agreement with Malaysian- based Ketech Asia, an advanced ammunition producer and small arms solutions provider, for the production and resale of CARACAL’s CAR 816 for the Royal Malaysia Armed Forces. The new partners will cooperate to increase sales of regionally manufactured advanced products and solutions in markets across Southeast Asia, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring superior capabilities for regional militaries. Under the terms of the agreement, EDGE will also conduct a transfer of technology to Ketech Asia. EDGE was also proud to launch a new advanced 92 metre Corvette, which will be built by its naval arm ADSB. The powerful multi-role vessel will be tailored to specific Southeast Asian requirements, and is designed and equipped to perform a range of littoral missions, capable of supporting both offensive and defensive naval, security, and law enforcement operations, and is prepared for surface, air and electronic warfare roles. Seven of EDGE’s portfolio companies showcased a wide variety of innovative solutions and products covering the domains of autonomous air, land, and naval systems, precision-guided munitions, and small arms.
