Nedinsco Awarded Contract with EM&E to Deliver Back-up Sight for Spanish VCR 8×8 Dragon

Nedinsco B.V. (NEDINSCO), announces that it has signed a contract with EM&E (Escribano Mechanical & Engineering S.L.) for the supply of its unique, non-powered BACK-UP SIGHT for integration into the EM&E GUARDIAN 30 turret. EM&E is part of TESS DEFENCE S.A., the Spanish consortium building the Spanish Army’s VCR8x8 DRAGON wheeled combat vehicle. The contract includes the delivery of 219 units of the unique NEDINSCO Back-Up Sight for integration into the EM&E GUARDIAN 30 turret. NEDINSCO will supply its field-proven, non-powered, rugged optical fiber-based BACK-UP SIGHT in a Single Field Of View version.

The Piranha V Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) is one variant of the fifth generation of the Mowag Piranha family of vehicles. It was designed by General Dynamics European Land Systems – Mowag GmbH. The Spanish variant will be locally known as Dragón. The first batch of 348 vehicles, to start replacing in 2020 a total of 1200 vehicles of several types. 5 units were acquired in 2015 as prototypes for the VBMR program, to replace the existing BMR and VEC cavalry vehicles. The VCR will be the core of the Spanish Army’s ‘Land Force 2035’, with its STANAG-compliant open systems architecture making it the most advanced Spanish Army vehicle at the brigade level.
