Iveco Defence Vehicles to Supply 1.048 Trakker Military Trucks to German Armed Forces

Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) has been commissioned by IVECO Defence Vehicles S.p.A. to produce the driver’s cabs of GTF2 protected transport vehicles on the IVECO Trakker basis. In total, the order involves a production volume of 224 protected cabs from KMW with an option for a further 824 truck cabs. KMW is responsible for the design and the welding of the cabs as well as their assembly, which also includes the electrical equipment. The first 224 cabins will be completed by 2024. The integration of all 1048 systems will be finalized in 2029.

On January 2021 the German Bundeswehr – represented by BAAINBw (Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support) – has awarded Iveco Defence Vehicles a frame contract for the supply of up to 1.048 military Trakker trucks to be delivered in 2021 – 2028. Over the last years, Iveco Defence Vehicles has delivered around 2.000 vehicles from its wide product range to the German Army, including protected customized versions, which have already been extensively fielded in operational theatres.
