Rheinmetall AG of Düsseldorf reorganized its Defence arm in response to planned expansion and the corporation’s increasingly international character. In essence, the management structure of Rheinmetall Defence consists of three divisions: Weapon and Ammunition, Electronic Solutions, and Vehicle Systems. The subsidiaries and shareholdings of Rheinmetall Defence are organized in these three strategic divisions, as profit centers responsible for their own respective market segments. A core pillar of Rheinmetall Defence, the Vehicle Systems Division (VSD) is a comprehensive supplier of tracked and wheeled military vehicles and turret solutions, capable of meeting the complete ground mobility needs of the world’s armed forces – all from a single source. The united competencies of Rheinmetall Landsysteme and Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles create a leading European systems supplier and the world’s most robust platform for tactical land mobility solutions. Together with the Electronic Solutions Division and the Weapon and Ammunition Division, VSD forms Rheinmetall Defence.

Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH
Rheinmetall AG and MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG formed a joint company for military wheeled vehicles. The new company, which will be known as Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH (RMMV), is an important provider of complete solutions in the market for military wheeled vehicles, covering the entire range of armoured and unarmoured transport, command and role-specific vehicles for the international armed forces. Rheinmetall has a stake of 51 percent and MAN 49 percent in the new company, which is headquartered in Munich. The first step calls for the merging of the development and sales activities of the two companies in the military wheeled vehicle sector under the aegis of the new company, which thus takes over product and market responsibility. The second contractually agreed step integrated the two companies’ production capacities at the plants in Kassel (Rheinmetall) and Vienna (MAN Nutzfahrzeuge) into the joint company by the end of 2011. Currently, RMMV employs around 1,500 employees. RMMV’s military vehicles have a reputation as the most mobile and reliable support trucks for the military. They benefit both from the excellent MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG research facilities and Rheinmetall’s comprehensive military knowledge. Today, RMMV offers a range of military trucks for all assignments, with exceptional lifecycle costs, performance – and most importantly – crew protection.
