The SandCat weapons carrier platform with a 3-man armored cab, can be configured for various mortars or missile systems. Here it is fitted with Elbit’s 120mm Spear Mortar System for quick fire and a quick getaway. The SandCat is a composite armored vehicle designed by the then Plasan Sasa (now Plasan) of Israel. The SandCat is based on a commercial Ford F-Series chassis. Approximately 700 SandCats have been produced since 2004, and while Plasan has never released complete details, these are known to be in service with at least 16 users across five continents. SandCat‘s advanced composite armor provides up to STANAG Level 3 protection without adding weight or reducing vehicle performance

Spear MK2 is an upgraded version of the operationally proven Spear mortar system – a fully autonomous, modular 120 mm mortar system. The Spear’s latest version has a high recoil reduction capability, making the system suitable for installation on light vehicles while maintaining the unique precision, autonomy, and agility of the Cardom mortar system.
The upgraded system provides an improved field of regard, wider area coverage, quick deployment and has an autonomous or manual operation by 2-3 crew members. The system is prepared and ready to fire the first round in sixty seconds from a halt. The system uses an integrated command and control system enabling full mission autonomy and providing battlefield management and situational awareness capabilities, fire missions’ prioritization and monitoring of personnel assignments.
