Czech unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturer Primoco UAV is on the cusp of achieving certification under the internationally recognized NATO STANAG 4703 standard. This certification process marks a significant milestone for the UAV sector. Primoco UAV successfully completed a series of rigorous tests at the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering of the Czech Technical University. These tests validated the mechanical parameters and structural operational safety of their One 150M UAV, setting a new precedent in the field. The results have been remarkable. Achieving certification under STANAG 4703 will enable Primoco UAV to export the One 150M to any NATO member country without the need for separate type tests for each market. The certification process for the One 150M UAV has been extensive and thorough. Structural tests, a critical component of aircraft type certification, involve hundreds of individual assessments.

“Although the airframe of the One 150M has undergone only a few minor modifications compared to the original design, tests have shown that it achieves even greater durability compared to manned aviation designs. From the very first plans and prototypes we have approached the development of our own Czech UAVs responsibly, professionally and with the vision to be among the best. This philosophy is now reflected favourably in the success of our extensive certification tests. With the majority of the certification process completed we expect to receive our type certificate by the end of 2024,” says Ladislav Semetkovský, CEO of Primoco UAV.

The One 150M also passed stringent engine performance tests at the end of last year, further proving its robustness and reliability. This milestone will position Primoco UAV as the first manufacturer to offer this level of certification in the unmanned segment, a standard previously reserved for manned aircraft. The Primoco UAV Model ONE 150 has a maximum take-off weight of 150 kg combined with a flight time of up to 15 hours, a range from the ground station of up to 200 km and an overall distance covered of up to 2,000 km. This endurance combined with a cruise speed of 100–150 km/h gives the Primoco UAV – compared to electric aircraft – unmatched performance in its category, while at the same time operating costs are kept to a minimum. The unique features of the UAV ONE 150 are its 30 kg payload and its high-altitude capability allowing extended missions with a mixed sensor payload and operation at altitudes of 2,000 m or higher.

Primoco UAV is a unmanned aerial vehicles designed and manufactured by Czech company. This unmanned aerial vehicles designed for both civilian and military applications. Its first model took flight in July 2015 and the UAV Model One 100 started full production in January 2016. The UAV is operated from a Ground Control Station with a pilot and a flight operator. It can be manually controlled or run in fully automatic mode, where pre-programmed waypoints allow automatic takeoff, flight and landing. The aircraft also has additional safety modes which allow it to return to base or land in a safe area if communications are lost or faults occur. Its primary usage is in civilian air operations, supporting applications ranging from border protection and security, to pipeline monitoring and remote infrastructure management. The aircraft has a fixed wing construction, providing extended range and reliability in adverse weather conditions.
