ASELSAN has successfully delivered the ALP-300G Portable Early Warning Radar System, Turkey’s longest-range radar, to the Turkish armed forces. The ALP-300G offers comprehensive airspace monitoring with its Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) and digital beamforming antenna infrastructure, designed for quick deployment on tactical wheeled platforms. The ALP-300G radar system represents a significant advancement in Turkey’s defense technology. This radar can process data equivalent to 81 DVDs per second and handle nearly 500 digital communications simultaneously. Its high resolution, extended range, and unparalleled accuracy make it a critical asset for aerial reconnaissance, surveillance, border control, naval platforms, air defense, missile systems, search and surveillance, fire control, tracking, and weapons detection.
Featuring over 4,000 transmit-receive modules, the ALP-300G ensures operational continuity even in the event of module failures. Unlike traditional rotating radars, it continuously receives reflections and sends verification signals to maintain accuracy. This system is developed with over 435,000 lines of code and secured by nearly 20 patents, highlighting its advanced technological framework. The ALP-300G can be set up in just 30 minutes and maintains uninterrupted communications via a radio link. Its integration on an 8×8 tactical wheeled vehicle, which includes a power generator and communication equipment, enhances its mobility. The compact design allows for transportation by an A400M aircraft, and the system can be prepared for transport or operation by two operators within 15 minutes.
The radar system is versatile, functioning as a primary search radar for ground-based air defense systems and as a gap filler to cover areas beyond the reach of other long-range radar systems. It performs target detection and tracking over medium and long ranges, at various altitudes, and can identify targets using its onboard Secondary Surveillance System (Mod-5/S capable). The ALP-300G also offers a dedicated mode for weapon locating, providing precise counter-fire by identifying the point of launch and generating automated impact point alarms. Its ability to detect and warn about ballistic objects (Sense and Warn) further enhances its defensive capabilities. With contributions from over 436 companies, the ALP-300G project underscores Turkey’s commitment to developing indigenous defense technologies.
ASELSAN’s ALP-300G radar system showcases the nation’s technological prowess and rapid response capabilities, bolstering its defense infrastructure and securing its borders against diverse threats. ASELSAN All Altitude Radar is a multifunction AESA Air Surveillance Radar System that can be used not only as the main search radar for the ground based air defense systems but also as a gap filler radar to cover the areas which cannot be covered by other long range radar systems. System can perform target detection and tracking functions within medium/long range (>100 NM) and low/ medium/high altitude and can identify targets by using its onboard Secondary Surveillance System (Mod-5/S capable). Improved system mobility is one of the main advantages of the being integrated on 8×8 tactical wheeled vehicle including power generator and communication equipment. System is compact enough to be transported by an A400M aircraft. 2 operators can prepare the system for transport or operation within 15 minutes. The system has the ability to detect and warn for ballistic objects (Sense and Warn).
