Quantum-Systems Unveils Reliant Vertical Take-off and landing Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle

Quantum-Systems has introduced its latest innovation, the Reliant vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV), designed for prolonged missions in challenging environments. This new Group 2 platform offers over 10 hours of endurance, facilitating persistent Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Target Acquisition (TA) capabilities even in contested areas. The Reliant UAS joins Quantum-Systems’ versatile Family of Systems, which includes the mid-range Vector and short-range Twister models. These platforms are designed to seamlessly work together, enabling coordinated operations for joint unmanned aerial systems (UAS) missions.

The Reliant stands out as a fixed-wing VTOL UAS, combining the agility of rotary-wing aircraft with the efficiency of fixed-wing models. This unique design allows it to operate beyond-line-of-sight in inaccessible or denied environments, making it ideal for ISR/RSTA missions. One of Reliant’s key features is its quick deployment capability, requiring less than 10 minutes for setup without the need for additional tools. Its compact, two-case mission pack-out enhances portability, ensuring rapid response in dynamic operational scenarios.

Moreover, Reliant offers mission versatility through its secondary payload bay, enabling integration of additional ISR sensors to adapt to varying mission requirements. Powered by Li-Po batteries, Reliant boasts a flight time of up to 4 hours, which extends to over 10 hours with its Internal Combustion-based Hybrid-Electric Drive system. With a maximum cruise speed of 60 mph and a payload capacity of 3 kg, Reliant provides optimal performance for extended missions. Measuring 7.8 ft in length and boasting a wingspan of 12.8 ft, Reliant combines compactness with endurance, making it a formidable asset for complex operational environments.
