Rostec, through its subsidiary Ruselectronics, has introduced a groundbreaking portable radar solution. This innovative Multifunctional Radar Station (MRLS) marks a pivotal advancement in detecting drones, particularly those operating at ultra-low altitudes or in a hovering mode. Engineered by the skilled team at the Rybinsk Instrument-Making Plant (RZP), a division of Ruselectronics, this state-of-the-art radar system is tailored for comprehensive radar detection, identification, and tracking of both land and water-based objects. Notably, its capabilities extend to the detection of elusive drones, adept at evading conventional surveillance methods, as well as the discernment of birds, animals, or humans.

With a remarkable operational range of up to 10 kilometers, the MRLS ensures round-the-clock surveillance effectiveness, unaffected by adverse weather conditions. Rigorous testing has validated its exceptional performance in fulfilling designated objectives, reaffirming its reliability and efficiency. Notably, the radar system is entirely composed of domestically sourced components, underlining Rostec’s commitment to self-reliance and technological sovereignty. Foremost among the MRLS’s attributes are its mobility, autonomy, and rapid deployment capabilities, facilitating swift response to evolving security scenarios. Equipped with an advanced identification algorithm, it enables precise detection of diverse objects with confidence-inspiring accuracy.

“The main advantages of MRLS are mobility, autonomy, short preparation time for use, as well as an identification algorithm that allows you to confidently detect various objects. It is also important to note safety for observation – the complex can be located at a distance from the observation site and, if detected, will not reveal the shelter. In December 2023, after preliminary tests, a small series of products was released. Six sets of radar systems have already been delivered to the customer. At the moment, they are installed and undergoing testing in the security system of the protected facility,” said RZP General Director Andrey Komogortsev.
