Colombian Air Force Awards ITP Aero Its Black Hawk Helicopter Fleet Engine MRO Contract

ITP Aero has signed a contract with the Colombian Ministry of Defence for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of the T700 engines that power its Armed Forces’ fleet of Black Hawk helicopters. The contract will run until June 2026 and the MRO services for the engines will be carried out at ITP Aero’s facilities in Albacete (Spain). ITP Aero has been providing MRO services for the T700 engines of the Black Hawk helicopter fleet of the Colombian Army and the Colombian Air Force (FAC) since 2012. This contract reinforces the long-standing partnership between ITP Aero and the Colombian Ministry of Defence, one of the most important Black Hawk operators in the world.

The award of this contract is a further demonstration of the reliability and flexibility of our services, and we are committed to providing the highest quality service to enable the Colombian Air Force to perform at its best during its very demanding flight missions”.

General Electric’s T700 is an advanced turboshaft engine with more than 100 million flight hours in the world’s most challenging environments. The T700-GE-700 was followed by improved and uprated Army engine variants for the UH-60 Black Hawk and the AH-64 Apache helicopters, as well as marinized naval engine variants for the SH-60 Seahawk derivative of the Black Hawk, the SH-2G Seasprite, and the Bell AH-1W Supercobra. T700s are also used on Italian and commercial variants of the AgustaWestland EH101/AW101 helicopter, and Italian variants of the NHIndustries NH90 helicopter. These are all twin-engine machines, except for the three-engined EH101.
