FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.S. is set to exhibit its advanced defence solutions at the World Defense Show 2024 taking place in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) from February 4 to 8. As a testament to its 35 years’ experience, FNSS will proudly presents its modernized M113A4 Family of Vehicles (FoV) at KSA with local production for the Royal Saudi Land Forces (RSLF) on the first day of the World Defense Show. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and GCC countries holds significant importance for FNSS. Since pioneering the export of complete defence systems, FNSS has played a pivotal role in unlocking the United Arab Emirates exports for the Turkish Defense Industry back in 1997. This venture had a big impact in the region, culminating in a series of modernization programs in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain and The Sultanate of Oman collectively reached over 1 billion USD in value.
For over two decades, FNSS has maintained its presence in the region, offering comprehensive Integrated Logistics Support services. FNSS has proficiently operated the Automotive and Upgrade Centre (AUC) of the Royal Saudi Land Forces (RSLF) for nearly 15 years, embarking on a substantial modernization endeavour targeting the M113A4 Armoured Personnel Carriers. FNSS’s commitment to Saudization has been paramount throughout the M113A4 modernization projects. Upholding the Ministry of Defence and RSLF’s policies, FNSS has invested substantial effort to develop facilities and uplift the local workforce, fostering an environment where the project could be executed with local expertise.
Through this initiative, numerous Saudi companies have been accredited, evolving into sub-system suppliers for the modernization program, thereby bolstering the nation’s industrial base. With more than 1000 M113A4 vehicles enhanced to date under FNSS’s stewardship and backing of local talent, the JV also takes pride in delivering a fleet of advanced Armoured Command Post Vehicles, based on the FNSS ACV-19 platform. ACV-15 is the designation of an amphibious Infantry fighting vehicle family developed by the Turkish defense company FNSS. The ACV-15 is based on the American Advanced Infantry Fighting Vehicle, which in turn is based on the American M113A1 armored personnel carrier.
The M113 is a fully tracked armored personnel carrier (APC) that was developed and produced by the FMC Corporation. The M113A4 is NATO certified and qualified by the original M113 manufacturer. This configuration significantly improves ease of operation, safety, reliability, performance and durability over the M113A1, A2, YPR & AIFV vehicles. The solution closely matches the ACV vehicles that have been tested several times between -20°C to +60°C in many different weather conditions on all terrains. In addition, the M113A4 has undergone a full desert mobility testing that was successfully completed covering over 3,000 km. This next generation modernized M113A4 FoV provides the user with a reliable and simple to operate vehicle with a service life of over 20 years.
