The Royal Malaysia Air Force and the French Air Force have successfully concluded the Malfrench Daggert 2023 (MD23), a joint endeavor that underscores the commitment of both nations to global security. This seven-day exercise, held from October 10th to 17th, 2023, marked a significant milestone in international cooperation. The closing ceremony, presided over by Colonel Muhammad Mustafa bin Omar of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) and the Co-Exercise Director (CO-EXDIR) at Kem Bestari, Kuala Rompin, Pahang, brought together participants and high-ranking officials, including Lieutenant Colonel Hasfa Nyzam bin Abdul Hamid TUDM, Assistant Chief of Staff MPOU-A7.
MD23 featured elite forces from both air forces, namely the Royal Malaysian Air Force Special Forces (PASKAU) and the French Air Force’s Commando Parachutiste de l’air no 30 (CPA 30). The exercise was conducted in two phases: the Force Integration Training (FIT) phase at Jugra Air Base and the Field Training Exercise (FTX) phase in the vicinity of Kuala Rompin, Pahang. The success of MD23 can be attributed to the dedication and commitment exhibited by the participants and support teams. The exercise also relied on cooperation and assistance from various units, particularly those under the umbrella of the TUDM Regiment Headquarters, including Jugra Air Base (PU Jugra), PASKAU, the TUDM Combat Training School (SLTT), and the No. 10 Skn helicopter squadron operating the EC725AP helicopters.
