Destini Awarded Malaysian Ministry of Defence Contract to Supply FZ Rocket Motor

Destini Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Destini Prima Sdn Bhd has secured a RM19.04mil contract from the Ministry of Defence Malaysia for the procurement, supply and delivery of Forges de Zeebrugge (FZ) rocket motor. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Destini said the contract tenure is for a period of two years starting from Sept 6, 2023 to Sept 5, 2025. It added that Destini Prima will be required to provide a performance bond of RM476,037.97. Destini also stated that Destini Prima is required to undertake the professional training and education for growing entrepreneurs – ready to work at its own cost.

In another notable development, Destini Bhd had recently been awarded a significant contract by the Malaysian Ministry of Defence. The contract, valued at approximately RM18.75 million, grants Destini Prima Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Destini Bhd, the responsibility of supplying 2.75-inch (70 mm) folding-fin aerial rockets (FFARs) to the Malaysian Army. The contract will span a period of two years, commencing from June 27, 2023, and concluding on June 26, 2025. As part of the agreement, Destini Prima is required to provide a performance bond amounting to RM468,733.01.

Thales Belgium has developped a rocket motor of its rockets. This new rocket motor, compatible with existing FZ rocket systems and launchers in worldwide service, provides metric precision up to range of 6000 m. Depending on the platform and mission profiles, different types of rocket motors are available:

  • FZ68/FZ67 FFAR (Folding Fins Aerial Rocket) for helicopter/aircraft
  • FZ90 WA (Wrap Around) for ground attack
  • FZ276 Laser Guided FFAR (Folding Fins Aerial Rocket) for helicopter/aircraft
