UVision Air Ltd. – a global leader in Loitering Munition systems of all sizes for a variety of missions, announces the successful signing of a contract to supply its Hero-120 Loitering Munition System to an undisclosed European country. This significant achievement is the outcome of a productive collaboration with Rheinmetall, initiated in 2021. It follows a series of successful flight missions demonstrating the Hero-120’s exceptional capabilities in the extreme Arctic winter conditions. These missions encompassed extreme low temperatures, heavy snowfall, strong winds, high humidity, ice-forming flight conditions, low cloud cover, and limited visibility, both day and night.
Major General (ret.) Avi Mizrachi, CEO of UVision, says “We are proud of this latest contract, which was secured shortly after we have demonstrated the unique capabilities of the Hero-120. The system’s effectiveness extends beyond addressing the specific needs of military forces operating in the Arctic, reaching the broader regions of northern and eastern Europe. The successful partnership between UVision and Rheinmetall has recently resulted in several significant agreements across Europe, including the supply of specialised loitering munition systems to Hungary. This contract emphasises the trust placed in the Hero-120 Loitering Munition System, further strengthening its status as the premier choice for military forces operating in extreme environments.”
UVision Air Ltd. announces that its Hero-120 Loitering Munition system has successfully proven to meet the demanding combat requirements of the Arctic winter while completing a series of flight-missions in the Arctic region as part of a field-evaluation under extreme winter environmental conditions. This evaluation was the concluding phase of a lengthy process, which included earlier test flights in the region, as well as extensive laboratory environmental tests, simulating the extreme temperatures, winds, and humidity conditions of the arctic winter. The Hero-120 LM can carry a multi-purpose warhead with both Anti-Tank and Anti- personnel capabilities. Completing the process of adapting the systems to the harsh climate of the Arctic winter is a significant milestone towards the widespread adoption of the HERO Loitering Munitions by European and NATO defence forces.
UVision develops the HERO family of loitering systems. The HERO is a sensor-to-shooter system used for surveillance, target acquisition and attack of a variety of targets in the battlefield. The family of loitering systems supports several launch methods: from the ground by a single soldier, from a vehicle, and from a variety of aerial and naval platforms. The HERO flies to the target area, loiters above the point of interest, tracks, and attacks the target. It is operated remotely and controlled in real time by a communications system. UVision Air Ltd. is an Israeli defense technology company established in 2011.
