Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of conventional and electrified vehicle propulsion solutions for tactical wheeled and tracked defense vehicles, is pleased to announce Allison’s 4000 Specialty Series™ transmissions are included in the U.S. Army’s Common Tactical Truck (CTT) prototype vehicle phase. CTT, the newest tactical wheeled vehicle program, will begin replacing the U.S. Army’s aging fleet of heavy tactical wheeled vehicles. The U.S. Army has proposed replacing most variants in its heavy tactical wheeled vehicle fleet with a single platform that shares a common powertrain, chassis and cab. The Army selected four companies to each provide several different prototype vehicles to refine specifications as the program moves to vehicle testing in 2024 and initial production by 2027.
