Saab received an order in mid-December 2022 for the AT4 anti-armour weapon from the French Armament General Directorate (DGA). The AT4 family is known as the Roquette NG (Nouvelle Génération) in France. The order value is approximately EUR € 24 million and deliveries will take place in 2023. The order was booked in Q4 2022. The AT4 family is a range of lightweight, man-portable, disposable weapons characterised by ease of use. AT4 can be used against tanks and heavy combat vehicles as well as threats in buildings and fortifications and to protect fixed installations, supply points and other vital assets.

In 2004, Saab and Nexter Munitions has won a contract by the French Armament General Directorateto supply the Roquette NG next-generation shoulder-launched weapon system, AT4CS ER (Extended Range, extended from 300 to 600 m ), AT4CS HE (High Explosive, penetrate up to 45 cm (18 in) of rolled homogeneous armour with beyond-armour effect) and AT4CS AST (Anti-Structure, combines a shallow-coned HEAT warhead with a tandem-charge and a follow-through high-blast warhead). The contract also incorporates deliveries of outdoor training simulators from Saab. There are several different projectiles for the AT4.
The AT4 is a Swedish 84 mm (3.31 in) unguided, man-portable, disposable, shoulder-fired recoilless anti-tank weapon manufactured by Saab Bofors Dynamics (formerly: FFV Ordance, later, Bofors Anti-Armour Systems). The AT4 is not considered a rocket launcher as the explosive warhead is not propelled by a rocket motor; similarly, it is not exactly a recoilless rifle, but rather a recoilless gun, as the launcher is smoothbore and not rifled. Saab has had considerable sales success with the AT4, making it one of the most common light anti-tank weapons in the world. The M136 AT4 is a variant used by the United States Army.
