The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) together with the Indonesian Air Force (TNI -AU) have carried out joint patrols in Operation PATKOR MALINDO. The operation was carried out in the Straits of Melaka area from 18 to 19 July 2022. Operations involving the air force can indeed increase the level of operational readiness and comprehensive cooperation between both Malaysia and Indonesia, especially in maintaining the security of the airspace from any intrusions.

The two -day joint patrol operation also directly strengthened bilateral diplomatic relations and military diplomacy. The Air Operations Command Headquarters (MPOU) acts as the joint coordinated patrol (PATKOR) in collaboration with the TNI-AU. RMAF is represented by No. 15 Sqn, CRC1 Kuantan and JATCC Subang. Also involved in the operation this time is the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM). The TNI-AU was represented by F16 aircraft flying from Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base, Pekan Baru and KOSEK HANUDNAS III Medan.
