Belgian Air Component F-16s based in Amari, Estonia are took part in a one day training exercise with the Finnish Air Force over Finland on Feb. 16, 2022. The F-16s joined Finnish Air Force F-18s over Finland where they completed a range of air-to-air training maneuvers that strengthen interoperability, and enhance the communication links required to execute multinational air operations.

Allied and Partner air forces regularly train together in the Baltic Sea region ensuring the safety and security of our shared airspace. The Belgian detachment is part of NATO’s enhanced Air Policing mission which is a specific assurance measure to demonstrate NATO’s solidarity, collective resolve, and its vigilant ability to adapt and scale its defensive missions and deterrence posture in response to evolving security situations.
