On July 30, at the Mykolayiv Shipyard, which is a part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, Genichesk inshore minesweeper and Pryluky missile boat of Naval forces of the Ukraine’s Armed Forces were floated out after a dock repair. Within three months, the specialists of the shipyard restored the outer skin, propeller-steering complex, power plants, mechanisms, etc. The repair of warships was performed in the frameworks of a contract with Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, all works were completed in time.
Earlier it was reported that Genichesk and Pryluky ships entered the water area of the Mykolayiv Shipyard on April 1, 2021. Three bridges in Mykolaiv were temporarily raised for ships to be able to get to the docks. Mykolayiv Shipyard is a major shipyard owned by state and located in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. In modern times, the shipyard has been most commonly referred to as Mykolayiv North Shipyard. Until 2017, it was known as the Shipyard named after 61 Communards.
Genichesk is a Yevgenya class patrol boat of the Ukrainian Naval Forces. The Yevgenya class are a series of inshore minesweepers built for the Soviet Navy and export customers between 1967 and 1980. The hulls were constructed of glass-reinforced plastic. The vessel had a normal draught of 1.35 metres (4 ft 5 in) and 1.38 metres (4 ft 6 in) fully load. The vessels were armed with twin-mounted 14.5 mm machine guns. They were equipped with MT-34, AT-2, SEMT-3, Neva and GKT-3 sweeps. The minesweepers mounted MG-7 sonar.
Pryluky is a Matka-class missile boat of the Ukrainian Naval Forces. The Matka class is the NATO reporting name for a group of hydrofoil missile boats built for the Soviet Navy (Baltic Fleet and Black Sea Fleet). These boats are the descendants of the Osa-class missile boat and are a heavily modified version of the Turya-class torpedo boat. The SS-N-2 launchers are the same type as carried on the Mod-Kashin-class destroyers. Following the 1997 Black Sea Fleet partition treaty all Black Sea Fleet Matka class boats were passed to the Ukrainian Navy.
