Technodinamika has completed the delivery of a procedural simulator for the crew of the Su-34 fighter-bomber to the branch of the 4th Lipetsk Aviation Combat Training and Conversion Training Center of the Russian Air Force in Chelyabinsk. The visualization system of the simulator is a 4-channel optical collimation system with computer image synthesis, which provides a continuous and continuous image of the outside of the cockpit space for each crew member. Technodinamika’s DYNAMICS center of scientific and technical services carried out a full cycle of commissioning of the simulator and training of specialists of the Chelyabinsk branch of the VUNC VVS Air Force VVA within the time frames planned by the state contract.
The full replica of the cockpit, the Su-34 Full Mission Simulator enables training of flight crew cooperation in the cockpit, handling with the pilot-cockpit interface, the powerplant, aircraft systems and onboard equipment and avionics during the training process and accomplishing the flight missions. The visual system is a 4-channel optical-collimation system with computer image generation that provides continuous and conjoint out-of-the-cockpit view with FOV of 86ºH x 28ºV for each member of the crew. The IOS enable to guide the training process and to evaluate the trainees’ actions with the help of EATP. The simulator is developed with the help of LLC Constanta-Design (IG).
The procedural simulator has a real interior of the Su-34 cockpit with a real instrumental environment and controls. The simulator is designed to familiarize the crew with the interior of the aircraft cabin, to develop skills in working with its control information field. In the process of training, the crew will also learn about the various modes of operation of the power plant, avionics and aircraft systems, and will develop skills in working with aircraft systems at all stages of flight. The important features of the simulator include the ability to practice actions in the event of special situations, as well as to practice procedures for interacting with the crew when performing combat missions.
The Sukhoi Su-34 (NATO reporting name: Fullback) is a Soviet-origin Russian twin-engine, twin-seat, all-weather supersonic medium-range fighter-bomber/strike aircraft. Based on the Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker air superiority fighter, the Su-34 has an armored cockpit for side-by-side seating of its two-person crew. The Su-34 is designed primarily for tactical deployment against ground and naval targets on solo and group missions in daytime and at night, under favourable and adverse weather conditions and in a hostile environment with counter-fire and electronic Warfare (EW) counter-measures deployed. The Su-34 will eventually replace the Su-24 tactical strike fighter and the Tu-22M3 long-distance bomber.
