Taiwanese shipyard Jong Shyn Shipbuilding (JSSC) launched a new 600 tons patrol vessel for the Taiwanese Coast Guard ( R.O.C. Coast Guard) on 27 April 2020. The new vessel Anping (CG-601) is the first of 12 locally designed and built 600-ton class catamaran patrol vessel. Based on the ROC Navy Tuojiang-class stealth missile corvette, the new patrol vessel has a cruising speed of 35 knots and can be fitted with up to 16x anti-ship missiles. It is fitted with high-pressure water cannon, and there is space (fitted for but not with) for converting the patrol vessel into a full fledged missile corvette armed with Hsiung Feng II and/or Hsiung Feng III anti-ship missiles.

Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Group began the construction on the first of twelve 600-ton catamaran patrol vessels ordered by the Taiwanese Coast Guard in 2019. The Anping ship has been modified and optimized as a sea patrol vessel according to the requirements and mission characteristics of the Taiwanese Coast Guard. Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Group expects that the ship will be completed and delivered by October 2020 and will be used to littoral protection and fishing control rights in the southern waters. In 2009 JSSC received orders for more than twenty ships between 500-tons and 2,000-tons from the Taiwanese Coast Guard.

The Tuo Chiang-class corvette (Tuo River’) is a Taiwanese-designed class of fast (up to 45 knots) and stealthy multi-mission corvettes built for the Republic of China (Taiwan) Navy. It is designed by Taiwanese Naval Shipbuilding Center in Kaohsiung to counter the numerous and increasingly sophisticated People’s Liberation Army Navy ships by utilizing hit-and-run tactics, and thus featured clean upper structure design with very few extrusions to reduce radar signature, pre-cooled engine exhaust to reduce infrared signature. It is armed with eight subsonic Hsiung Feng II and eight supersonic Hsiung Feng III anti-ship missiles launchers, a Phalanx Close-In Weapons System, and a 76 mm (3 in) main gun.
