The crews of the Black Sea Fleet frigates “Admiral Makarov” and “Admiral Essen” conducted preparatory and test artillery fire on coastal targets in the area of the Opuk combat training ground in the Crimea. During the first stage of firing, the crews of the ships’ artillery combat units worked out the algorithm of actions when performing a combat training exercise. At the second stage of the training, the gunners performed preparatory firing from A-190 artillery system at coastal targets.

As part of the test artillery firing, the personnel successfully hit both visible coastal targets and invisible ones — according to navigation data using an auxiliary aiming point. Shooting at coastal targets was carried out in accordance with the action plan for combat training of the Black Sea Fleet for the 2020 training year. Earlier, the crews worked out an emergency preparation of frigates for combat and a campaign with a further exit from the base point to the specified areas in the Black sea.
