U.S. Marine Corps with Combined Anti-Armor Team One, Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division used Oshkosh Defense Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) Close Combat Weapons Carrier (CCWC) during a live-fire range on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, March 18, 2020. The training integrates live-fire and maneuver tactics to increase the Marines’ proficiency with the JLTV and various weapons systems. JLTV is an ACAT IC Army-Marine Corps defense acquisition program that introduces a new generation tactical wheeled vehicle to replace a portion of the services’ High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) fleet.

The JLTV Close Combat Weapons Carrier (CCWC) is the mission package configuration for employment of the TOW/SABER system. The system design includes a securable rear cargo box capable of accommodating TOW/SABER weapon system components, missiles, and loading/reloading capabilities in accordance with JLTV system specifications. The program office is interested in solutions that will continue to improve the CCWC loading/reloading capabilities to enhance the warfighter’s ability to employ, engage, and redeploy the TOW/SABER system safely.

The Oshkosh Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) was developed by American Company Oshkosh Defence for the US Army and Marine Corps, to replace the aging fleet of High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV/Humvee). The JLTV family now consists of three base vehicle platforms, Utility (M1279 JLTV-UTL), Close Combat Weapons Carrier (M1281 JLTV-CCWC) and General Purpose (M1280 JLTV-GP). The Utility base vehicle platform is a two-door configuration, the General Purpose and Close Combat Weapons Carrier base vehicle platforms are a four-door configuration.
