The Russian Defense Ministry released a video of Russian Navy Russian corvette Soobrazitelnyy launch Redut anti-aircraft missiles. The RFS Soobrazitelny (Astute) is the second ship of the latest class of corvettes of the Russian Navy, the Steregushchy class (Project 20381). The ship was built by the Severnaya Verf shipyard in St.Petersburg and was laid down in May 2003. The Steregushchiy class (Vigilant) is the newest class of corvette in the Russian Navy. It was designed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau. It was launched in late March 2010 and joined the Baltic Fleet in 2011.

The ship is the first of the class to be fitted with the Redut system intended to increase its anti-aircraft capabilities with respect to the Kashtan CIWS previously used. She have a combined bridge and command centre, and space and weight provision for eight SS-N-25 missiles. The Redut VLS cells containing 9M96E medium-range SAMs of the S-400 system.

The Soobrazitelny have a steel hull and composite material superstructure, with a bulbous bow and nine watertight subdivisions. Stealth technology was widely used during construction of the ships, as well as 21 patents and 14 new computer programs. At 2,200 tons it is large for a corvette and is designated as a frigate by NATO. The corvette was shown to the public for the first time at the fifth International Maritime Defence Show (IMDS-2011) in St. Petersburg. In April 2017, Soobrazitelnyy and her sister Boikiy were escorted through the English Channel by HMS Sutherland.
