U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa’s (CJTF-HOA) East African Response Force (EARF), conduct team maneuvers through mountainous terrain during a routine live fire exercises in Djibouti, Africa. The purpose of the EARF is to serves as one of U.S. Africa Command’s crisis response capabilities to protect American interests on the continent of Africa should any threats arise, and is tasked with responding to emergency situations at U.S. Embassies in the East African region.
