ACS (Armoured Car Systems), headquartered in Friedberg-Derching, Germany, announces the expansion of its product portfolio. ACS is currently preparing the launch of a new product brand that will strategically complement and expand its existing portfolio. In June 2026, the name “CUON” was officially registered as a trademark for the development, manufacture and integration of special protection systems and vehicles for military applications. With this new brand, the company reinforces its commitment to providing innovative and future-oriented solutions that meet the evolving requirements of military forces. The German Armed Forces traditionally use animal names for new vehicle programs. ACS vehicles have been successfully established on the market under the ENOK name and brand. The name CUON is derived from Cuon alpinus, commonly known as the dhole or Asian wild dog. Alongside the wolf and the African wild dog, the dhole belongs to the group of large, pack-hunting canids. Further details regarding the new product and its technical characteristics will be unveiled in the coming months.
“With our new product brand, we are creating a strong new platform and further strengthening our position in the field of light military mobility,” comments Sebastian Schaubeck, Managing Director of ACS.
ACS pursues a strategy based on Standardized Mobility Platforms (SMP). The existing ENOK derivatives already cover a broad range of operational requirements and form the foundation of this strategy through logistical commonality, high modularity and reliable spare parts availability. Based on the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, ACS has developed several derivatives, all of which are in operational service and have been delivered to customers. The ENOK AB is a tactical vehicle designed for infantry units. It has redefined modularity within its vehicle class. Based on the same vehicle platform, ACS also offers the protected ENOK Light and ENOK Pick-Up. The Modular Box Body and the Mission Module for the G-Wagon complete the ACS mobility portfolio in the vehicle class up to 5 t Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). The original driver’s cab is retained and supplemented by a box body. The Mission Module is suitable for a wide range of applications, including a C2 node, transport platform or weapon carrier. At the same time, ACS continues to advance the development of the ENOK 14.8, both as a lightly protected vehicle and as a transport vehicle. The official launch of the new CUON product brand is planned for the coming months.
