EM&E Group, a leading Spanish company in Defense and Security innovation and technology, will supply the Portuguese Navy with 47 naval weapon stations. This milestone represents a strategic step for the company as it is the first contract of this magnitude managed through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). In doing so, EM&E Group reinforces its position as a leading international partner in the field of high-tech naval defense. The contract, which will be carried out in two phases, contemplates the delivery of different units of SENTINEL 2.0 and SENTINEL 30, 12.7mm and 30mm caliber systems, respectively. The supply of EM&E Group naval weapon stations to the Portuguese Navy demonstrates the company’s commitment to developing technological solutions that reinforce European strategic sovereignty and proves that the capabilities of these systems meet NATO’s technical and operational needs and requirements. This contract also consolidates EM&E Group’s trajectory in the naval field, whose systems have been in service for years on various Spanish Navy vessels, as well as in other international projects.

SENTINEL systems are all modular in design, capable of day and night operation, and gyro-stabilized on two axes. The SENTINEL 2.0 is a lightweight and compact station that provides excellent short- and medium – range defensive capabilities with high firing accuracy. This station operates with 5.56 mm, 7.62 mm , or 12.7 mm caliber rounds and maintains logistical commonality with GUARDIAN 2.0 ground stations. Furthermore, and just like its land-based version GUARDIAN 2.0 , it can integrate an MK-19 , making this platform our hardkill naval anti-drone solution. The SENTINEL 30 is a station that integrates a 30mm cannon (adaptable to 40mm) with an MK 44 Bushmaster II barrel (standard or stretch version ) that offers great precision thanks to the latest generation ballistic computer integrated into the system. Furthermore, it features an integrated ammunition programmer , allowing the use of ABM ammunition without the need for any additional systems. This station is specifically designed for integration into medium and large vessels.
