Slovakian defense firm EVPU a.s. has taken a decisive step in next-generation remote firepower with the introduction of the TURRA 30 V10, a remote-controlled weapon station (RCWS) built for adaptability, lethality, and digital integration. Designed to be mounted on both wheeled and tracked armored platforms, this new iteration brings cutting-edge features tailored for the modern battlefield. At its core, the TURRA 30 V10 combines high-caliber automatic firepower, advanced protection systems, and operator-focused digital controls. TURRA 30 is equipped with CMS-1 panoramic commander sight, which provides the vehicle commander with a complete overview of the situation on the battlefield. CRANE-XLR or CMS-1G can be used as a gunner sights, and the entire gun turret can also be equipped with the LAWAREC laser and radar irradiation detection system. The system integrates a stabilized 30 mm 2A42 automatic cannon paired with a PKT 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun—together forming a potent solution against enemy armor and soft targets at ranges of up to 2,500 meters.

EVPU’s innovation lies not just in firepower, but also in modularity and survivability. The V10 upgrade introduces key enhancements including:

  • HARPIA Active Protection System, designed to defend against incoming threats.
  • Multi-Canister Drone Launcher, signaling a leap in battlefield ISR and loitering munition capabilities.
  • GLADIUS TWIN Mini Remote Weapon Station, offering layered close-in defense.
  • Integrated dual ATGM tubes, enabling rapid anti-armor engagement.

The weapon station’s main gun, the battle-proven 2A42, delivers 550 rounds per minute using various ammunition types such as APDS, HEI, and TP, fed through a dual-belt system with manual or pyrotechnic reloading. Its 7.62 mm secondary armament provides effective support fire at 1,500 meters. The integrated opto-electronic suite—featuring a cooled thermal camera, TV camera with zoom, and laser rangefinder—ensures targeting precision in all weather and lighting conditions. These systems are fully stabilized via FOG-based gyroscopic drive and controlled through a digital operator interface.

The operator’s station emphasizes ease of control and operational awareness. Using intuitive joysticks and a diagnostics-enabled control panel, gunners can switch between observation, targeting, and engagement modes with seamless efficiency. Optional integration with laser warning systems and automatic fire detection enhances vehicle survivability in high-threat environments. Beyond its baseline configuration, the TURRA 30 V10 supports further customization. Its architecture allows for integration of additional weapon systems like anti-air guided missiles (AAGM), boosting versatility across multiple combat roles. In a theater increasingly defined by remote operations and asymmetric threats, the TURRA 30 V10 sets a new benchmark for unmanned lethality and protection. For NATO members and EU forces seeking scalable, future-ready turret solutions, Slovakia’s EVPU may now be a name to watch.
