At the heart of the Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) A1 tractor is a powerful 700-horsepower Caterpillar® C18 engine, coupled with an Allison® 4800SP transmission, and a robust single-speed Oshkosh 30000 Series transfer case. Its impressive two 55,000-pound winches further enhance its capability to tow and transport even the heaviest military assets, making it indispensable for the rapid deployment of tanks, self-propelled artillery, and other combat vehicles. With its six-person, air-conditioned cab and adherence to the Long-Term Armor Strategy (LTAS) standards, the HET also prioritizes the safety and comfort of its crew while ensuring the armored protection necessary in hostile environments.
