High Point Aerotechnologies Unveils Sawtooth Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS)

High Point Aerotechnologies, a leading US-based defense technology firm, took the stage at the Singapore Airshow 2024 to debut its Sawtooth Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS). Janes reported that this latest-generation C-UAS boasts a sophisticated array of layered technologies designed to effectively detect and neutralize unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The Sawtooth C-UAS incorporates a passive radio frequency (RF) system, radar, electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensor, and advanced jammers. In the initial detection phase, the passive RF system identifies UAS communications within known frequency libraries. In cases where frequencies are unknown, the system seamlessly transitions to its radar capabilities for enhanced detection.

The EO/IR sensor facilitates precise identification by zooming in and transitioning to an optical track, enabling users to determine the UAV type and assess whether it carries any weaponry. Once identified, the operator can make informed decisions on how to mitigate the threat. The Sawtooth’s threat mitigation strategy revolves around directional jammers that can neutralize threats across multiple bands, including Wi-Fi, GPS, and global navigation satellite services (GNSS). Unlike kinetic means, the Sawtooth focuses on front-end detection, tracking, and non-kinetic mitigation. It can also be integrated with larger weapon systems for ultimate threat destruction.

The Sawtooth is a modular C-UAS hardware platform, offering customization to meet specific mission requirements both now and in the future. Present configurations include SawtoothTM™ and SawtoothSF™, catering to diverse needs. Trusted by civilian and civil organizations globally, Sawtooth stands out as the most adaptable C-UAS and perimeter defense system. Its modular, open architecture allows for site-specific customization while ensuring compliance with civil and law enforcement regulations. The SawtoothSF™ system, designed for Special Operations and highly mobile forces, boasts long and short-range radars, passive RF systems, EO/IR cameras, ISR capability, electronic warfare (EW), and both kinetic and non-kinetic effectors. Engineered for rapid deployment, the SawtoothSF™ system is transportable on a 463L pallet.

High Point Aerotech is at the forefront of modern defense, providing autonomous layered defense and robotic systems with multi-mission capabilities. Their systems, scalable, interoperable, open, and integrated directly into civil and military infrastructure, have been tested, trusted, and deployed by military and civilian organizations in over 15 countries globally. Emphasizing open architecture and modularity, High Point Aerotech ensures seamless integration with existing and future systems, keeping pace with the evolving demands of missions worldwide.
