U.S. Soldiers assigned to Regimental Engineering Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, conduct a gunnery range in Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicles at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Feb. 7, 2024. The 2nd Cavalry Regiment, assigned to V Corps, America’s forward deployed corps in Europe, works alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces capable of rapid deployment throughout the European theater to defend the NATO alliance. The 2nd Cavalry Regiment, also known as the 2nd Dragoons, is an active Stryker infantry and cavalry regiment of the United States Army. The Second Cavalry Regiment is a unit of the United States Army Europe and Africa, with its garrison at the Rose Barracks in Vilseck, Germany. It can trace its lineage back to the early part of the 19th century. In addition to its two current names, former names are 2nd Riflemen, 2nd Dragoons, 2nd Constabulary Regiment, 2nd Armored Cavalry, 2nd Cavalry (Light), and 2nd Stryker Cavalry.
