The Flyer® 72 vehicle is a non-developmental item, purpose-built, lightweight platform designed to meet complex mission sets. The Flyer® 72 was selected by the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) as the vehicle of choice for their fleet of Ground Mobility Vehicles 1.1 (GMV 1.1). At 72” wide the Flyer® 72 is capable of internal transport in the CH-47 and C-130 aircraft. It is a mature, highly mobile platform, with a payload capacity over 5,000 pounds and can be configured to multiple crew sizes (up to nine personnel). The Flyer 72 can be “guns up” in under a minute after exiting the aircraft, and can carry variety of armaments. Its adaptable communications suite provides increased operating range and provides the operator real-time access to critical information.
As part of a versatile family of highly mobile and modular ground mobility platforms, the Flyer vehicle is airdrop certified and internally and externally air transportable by the CH-47 helicopter (up to two internal or external) and various fixed wing transport aircraft. Engineered for the diverse and demanding needs of military operations, the Flyer vehicle featured exceptional mobility, facilitating swift navigation through challenging terrain. With an impressive 1:1 payload capacity, the Flyer vehicle particularly excels in harsh conditions including the desert, emerging as a reliable choice for operations in arid, sandy, and mountainous landscapes. The Flyer 72-Heavy Duty is an open cargo deck vehicle capable of supporting multiple mission kits. The GMV-U shares the same base design as Flyer 72 GMV 1.1 and A-GMV 9-Man vehicles and can be used as a kit modification for either variant.
