IWI – Israel Weapon Industries and a global leader in the production of combat-proven small arms for military, police, law enforcement agencies, and governmental entities around the world, will supply additional thousands of Micro-TAVOR (X95) assault rifles for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) infantry brigades under a new contract. The Israel Ministry of Defense’s Department of Production and Procurement – Ground Weapons Division purchased 2,800 Micro-Tavor for the IDF from Israel Weapon Industries. Costing approximately $2.9M, these state-of-the-art firearms will be used by IDF infantry brigades including Nahal, Golani, and Givati. The Micro-TAVOR rifle has been in IDF active duty and reserves service since 2006. Its bullpup configuration platform creates an ergonomic and short firearm with a long barrel, giving it superior ballistics compared to other platforms.

The IWI Micro-Tavor (formerly known as the X95, MTAR or MTAR-21) is an Israeli bullpup assault rifle designed and produced by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) as part of the Tavor rifle family, along with the Tavor TAR and the Tavor 7. IWI US offers the rifle in semi-automatic only configuration as the ‘Tavor X95.
