The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) awarded a 3-year contract to Draken to provide Aviation Support for Electronic Warfare (EW) to the Spanish Navy. This contract will enable Spanish Navy personnel to train for multi-domain missions by conducting tests on the Draken highly modified Dassault Falcon 20 aircraft, able to simulate current and evolving threats. NSPA provides the full spectrum of Life Cycle Management services in the aviation domain for Fixed Wing Aircraft, Rotary Wing Aircraft, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Flight simulators. NSPA currently provides its services to twelve NATO and NATO Partner Nations through two dedicated Support Partnerships: Fixed Wing Aircraft and Helicopters.
“The formalization of this Outline Agreement is the successful culmination of a long and complex negotiation involving technical, contractual and legal aspects; which has enabled a more responsive, efficient approach to meeting customer requirements to support naval exercises,” Angel Pastor, NSPA Naval Project Officer said.
As with all our services, the Draken team approaches the delivery of Electronic Warfare effects in multi-domain operations with nothing but the utmost integrity. Our teams recognise that the training effects we deliver are vital to front-line forces, ensuring their operational readiness, and we are proud that the NSPA has entrusted Draken to deliver these essential training services to the Spanish Navy,” commented Draken’s CEO Paul Armstrong.
The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (French: Agence OTAN de soutien et d’acquisition), abbreviated to NSPA, is the main logistics and procurement agency of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) and is the executive branch of the NATO Support and Procurement Organisation (NSPO), formerly NATO Maintenance and Supply Organization (NAMSO). Until 2012, the tasks were organised with the NATO Supply Agency and other institutions. It has about 1200 employees in Luxembourg, France, Italy and Hungary. On 1 April 2015, organisation and structure of NSPO and NSPA changed. This change marks the expansion of Agency capabilities to include all aspects of systems procurement from initial acquisition throughout sustainment.
