General Dynamics Wilkes Barre, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, was awarded a $1,476,629,900 modification (P00008) to contract W52P1J-19-D-0075 to manufacture large-caliber metal projectiles and mortar projectiles. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is an industry and global leader in the manufacture of large, medium and small-caliber direct and indirect-fire munition. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of July 30, 2029. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics produces a wide range of projectile and mortar metal parts for large caliber cannons, artillery, as well as aircraft and naval platforms. As the principle Operating Contractor for the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant (SCAAP), this facility has been in constant production of metal parts for weapon systems since 1963. Scranton Operations has been in continuous production since 1963, and manufactures artillery shells for 105mm to 155mm caliber applications. The company also produces high-quality mortar components and increments the for U.S. military for 60mm, 81mm and 120mm mortar applications.
