The Malaysian Armed Forces (COA), General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Zamrose bin Mohd Zain attended the Rectification Session of the Ejder Yalcin 4×4 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) for the use of MALBATT 850 at Nurol Makina ve Sanayi US, Ankara, Turkey. Mymilitarytimes reported that after completing the verification of rectification, the COA also completed the commissioning session of the First Unit Vehicle (FUV) 4 x 4 APC before the company continued to manufacture vehicles for the Malaysian Army at Nurol Makina ve Sanayi US Manufacturing and Production Complex, Ankara. The name PANTHERA or its scientific name PANTHERA PARDUS was chosen because this animal can adapt well in various habitats around the world.

The Malaysian Armed Forces is planning to replace obsolete assets deployed under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) mission. The assets included 39 Condor armoured vehicles, which have been in service since 2006. The replacement was to ensure the readiness of the Malaysian Battalion (Malbatt) peacekeeping mission was at optimum level. Despite their age, the assets were still functioning well following systematic maintenance. In addition to Lebanon, they had also been deployed to Somalia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Malaysian Armed Forces also planned to procure 59 High Mobility Light Tactical Vehicles which would be used by the Malaysian Army to enhance its operational capabilities.

Nurol Ejder (Dragon) is a family of armoured vehicles produced by Turkish company Nurol Makina. Two versions exists under the Ejder name, a 6×6 version, and a more popular 4×4 version, called Ejder Yalcin. By its unique design and high payload capacity, different payloads can be integrated; therefore Ejder Yalcin 4×4 can be customized for various mission. With its powerful diesel engine, high torque capability and fully independent suspension system, the vehicle offers superior off-road performance. During the development of Ejder Yalcin 4×4, in addition to the superior protection features, user’s operational & ergonomic requirements were also considered and an ideal platform was created for the personnel to operate more efficiently and more secure in the field.
