Flyer Defense will debut its new Hero-120 Configuration Kit on a Flyer 72- Utility (F72-U) ground mobility vehicle during the Association of the United States Army’s Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. from October 10-12. The F72-U Hero-120 configuration is compatible with the Hero-120 precision loitering munition system from Mistral, Inc. and UVision Air, Ltd. The system features a unique aerodynamic structure that can carry out pinpoint strikes against mid-range hard targets at the range of at least 40km. Flyer’s Hero-120 Configuration Kit boasts a capacity for up to 10 munition systems with four ready to launch and six stowed. Attendees will also have the opportunity to see the Flyer 72-Heavy Duty Javelin Configuration Kit in Booth #1410 outfitted with a Kongsberg Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) system, .50cal machine gun, nine Javelin missiles, and four M72 LAWs.
The Hero-120 is a mid-range, anti-armor, beyond-line-of-sight weapon system which meets the complex requirements of modern battlefield challenges. The high-precision, smart loitering munition system has a unique aerodynamic structure that carries out pinpoint strikes against anti-armor, anti-material and anti-personnel targets, including MBTs, vehicles, concrete fortifications, and other soft targets in populated urban areas, while ensuring minimum collateral damage. Its wide range of multi-purpose warheads enables the operational user to effectively engage all targets. UVision Air Ltd. is an Israeli defense technology company established in 2011. The company’s solutions, called HERO, are designed for targeted attacks against a variety of threats at various ranges.
The Flyer 72’s modular approach provides the warfighter with a rapid mission reconfiguration capability.
