British threat detection specialist Silent Sentinel has been awarded a contract by Kongsberg Norcontrol to provide long-range thermal cameras for littoral security at live-fire testing sites on the Swedish coastline. As part of the company’s first ever contract with Kongsberg Norcontrol, a leading provider in maritime surveillance, Silent Sentinel will be providing Jaegar platforms to be used by the Swedish Armed Forces in providing advanced detection of unknown vessels, maintaining safety and security, and alerting operators to potential threats. The Jaegars will be equipped with Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) and purpose-built cold-starter kits to ensure the platforms’ rapid functionality in colder climates such as those of harsh Scandinavian winters.
