The servicemen of the Southern Military District (SMD) have completed preparations for the joint Russian-Pakistani military exercise Druzhba-2021, which will be held from September 27 to October 6 on the territory of the Molkino training ground in the Krasnodar territory. During the training, the scouts of the Southern Military District for a month improved their skills in conducting reconnaissance, search and ambush operations, camouflage and covert movement on the ground, as well as the arrangement of long-term observation posts and survival in isolation from the main forces. About 80 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Pakistan and the same number of soldiers of the special forces unit of the 49th combined arms army of the Southern Military District are involved in the exercise.
The servicemen worked out ways to detect camouflaged command posts, radio stations and communication centers, clusters of equipment and ammunition depots, and capture strategically important enemy object. In addition, the servicemen practiced non-parachute landing from Mi-8AMTSh military transport helicopters to limited areas of the terrain, in particular, on the slopes of mountains, as well as in a forest area. After the landing, the servicemen practiced the procedure for organizing the defence of the landing area, firing ambushes, and also repelled the attacks of mock terrorists.
The joint Russian-Pakistani military exercise Druzhba-2021 will be held from September 27 to October 6, 2021 on the territory of the Molkino training ground in the Krasnodar territory. Its goal is to strengthen and develop military cooperation between the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Druzhba exercise has been held since 2016, alternately on the territory of Russia and Pakistan. The event will be held at the Molkino training ground in the Krasnodar territory for the second time, previously the exercise at the training ground was organized in 2019.
