Saudi Arabian Special Forces Receives Ukraine’s Kozak-5 Armored Vehicles

Saudi Presidency of State Security’s (PSS) Special Security Force have acquired and already received an undisclosed number of Kozak-5 armored vehicles manufacturer Practika company. Practika’s Kozak-5 Armored Vehicles products have passed state tests, are officially adopted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and National Guard of Ukraine, and are repeatedly battle-tested. The company has implemented two export contracts with Saudi Arabia this year.

The Kozak is a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier with a V-hull intended to transport personnel and various loads. The Kozak 5 is armored utility vehicle, intended for both tactical tasks of low intensity and for usage by police units or special operations forces. Due to small overall dimensions (the smallest among PRACTIKA armored vehicles) KOZAK-5 is perfect for actions in dense-built urban areas. PRACTIKA armored vehicles have a sufficient number of openings (doors and hatches) for prompt landing on the battlefield and for retaliatory fire.

The Kozak 5 based on 4×4 truck Ford F550, chassis specially enforced (front axle strengthening, suspension and brakes enforcing, bigger wheels (335/80 R20) installing for armored vehicle building). The key feature – outstanding dynamic characteristics due to the extremely high power-to-weight ratio (34,5 HP/t). The maximum road speed of the vehicle is 150 km/h. The vehicle has a complex of anti-blast features that provides STANAG 4569 level 2 of blast protection, which is uncommon for vehicles of this class.

Practika, is a Ukrainian Company established in 1993 as a research-and-production association in Kiev, occupying a leading position in Ukraine in providing services, technical support and production of safety goods. Company’s activities began with the production of banking equipment: safes, security doors, currency exchange offices, bank vaults, server rooms, entrance rooms, cashier’s offices, cash operating units – to expand to manufacturing of armoured vehicles, first CIT vehicles and then VIP cars, after 5 years of its foundation. At present, company has the office in Kiev, and a completely equipped factory extending in an area of 7,000m2.
