The Panzer Battalion 14 (Panzerbataillon 14) is a tank battalion in the Austrian Armed Forces. It is stationed at Garnisonsstraße in Wels. The battalion equipped with Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks. The Austrian Armed Forces took first place in the Strong Europe Tank Challenge 2017 as six nations and partner nations battled it out in Grafenwoehr, Germany. The Austrian tankers defeated teams from France, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and from the United States in the exercise. The Austrian soldiers used Leopard 2A4 tanks during the competition.

The Austrian Army acquired 114 Leopard 2A4s from surplus Dutch stocks plus one turret. The Leopard 2 is a main battle tank developed by Krauss-Maffei in the 1970s for the West German Army. The most widespread version of the Leopard 2 family, the 2A4 models included more substantial changes, including an automated fire and explosion suppression system, an all-digital fire control system able to handle new ammunition types, and an improved turret with flat titanium/tungsten armour. The Leopard 2s were manufactured in eight batches between 1985 and 1992.
