The Cockerill Protected Weapon Station (CPWS) is an innovative protected, light, and multi-role turret responding to the evolution of the operational requirements of the world’s armed forces. The CPWS is remotely operated from the vehicle on which it is integrated. It allows for reloading under armor and, is light enough to be integrated on all types of wheeled 4×4, 6×6, 8×8, or tracked chassis. Depending on the mission, it is designed to accommodate M242 25mm caliber guns and M230LF 30mm caliber guns. Its unique configurable hatch gives it the ability to adopt four configurations, depending on the mission profile.

The independence of John Cockerill Defence enables to offer tailored solutions to meet the ever demanding operational needs of armed forces worldwide, also taking into account their existing fleets. The CPWS is designed to incorporate the 20 mm to 30 mm calibre automatic gun that best meets the user’s needs. The list below gives a few examples: CPWS20 (20 mm), CPWS25 (25 mm), ATK M242, Nexter, Oerlikon KBA (30 mm). The CPWS station is equipped with a dual-mode high-performance stabilised sight system used in observation mode for a panoramic 360° view without moving the station, and in firing mode as a targeting system linked with the ballistics computer system.
