Moscow Hosts Talks Between Russian Deputy Defense Minister and Myanmar Chief of General Staff

The Russian defense ministry said on Monday that Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin met with visiting Chief of the General Staff of Myanmar’s Armed Forces General Mya Tun Oo to discuss military cooperation between the two countries. The sides gave a positive assessment to bilateral cooperation in the military and military-technical fields and outlined steps for their further expansion. The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere.

General Mya Tun Oo arrived in Moscow to take part in the ceremony of opening the 2020 International Army Games and the Army-2020 international military technical forum, which is to be held in the Patriot exhibition center near Moscow from August 23 through 29. The International Army Games is an annual Russian military sports event organized by the Ministry of Defense of Russia (MoD). The games have been referred to as the War Olympics. In addition to the competition, the International Army Games includes a military theme park, a recruitment station, and souvenir shops.
