The Swedish Military Procurement Agency (Försvarets Materielverk ) placed an order of 90 units of German-made Mercedes-Benz G-class G 300 CDI 6×6 with a crew-cabin under the existing framework agreement between FMV and Daimler AG. The vehicle will be used at Swedish Air-Force (Svenska Flygvapnet) bases and facilities all over the country. As a system supplier, Mercedes-Benz AG will also deliver a so-called “secondary material” package including technical training and further tailor-made documentation. Delivery of the G-Class 300CDI 6×6 vehicles to Försvarets Materielverk will be from September 2020 until February 2022.
The Mercedes-Benz G-class G 300 CDI 6×6 Double Cab has a towing capacity from 2,5 tons to 14 tons on the rear end and a crew of four passengers. The front of the vehicle will be equipped with a removable towing coupling as well. A steel-aluminum flatbed behind the crew-cabin and the roof-rack offer space for the storage of equipment such as snow-chains, fire extinguisher and other GFE (Government furnished equipment) material for maintenance. Currently, Daimler AG provides more than 60 armies with G-class derivations.
