The Vedette F2 combat support boat from CEFA is intended to replace the VEDETTE F1 in service in the French Army Engineers to help crossing-operation; it willensure rapid, effective and safe intervention, even in themost severe climatic conditions. The Vedette F2 can be operated from a flatrack, whichis carried by any civilian or military truck equiped witha hooklift.The set [vedette + flatrack] is a complete unit able tolaunch and retrieve the vedette. The Vedette F2 is based on the concept of the German M-Boot. It has the same main advantages. Propulsion is made by 2 SCHOTTEL pump jets integrated into the hull and powered by 2 170 cv Deutz engines each for increased safety. Water jet propulsion allows high thrust at shallow draught. VEDETTE F2 can also be used as a general-purpose working boat in support of diving operations, ship-to-shore re-supply and inland water patrols. This system allows the Vedette F2 to use all its power in just 50cm of water, whatever the climatic conditions (including ice). The Vedette quickly reaches 30 km/h (16 m/h).
