L3Harris Technologies and Skydagger Technologies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for wider collaboration in supporting advanced C-UxS technology. Under the agreement, the companies will work in close collaboration to identify new capabilities for L3Harris’ VAMPIRE™ C-UxS system, including drone-on-drone interception. The new VAMPIRE drone capability would be manufactured in the United States for allied operations. The MOU provides L3Harris with a strong partner to support the acceleration of delivery timelines, strengthen industrial resilience and enhance mission adaptability across contested environments. Together, VAMPIRE and Skydagger provide flexible cost-effective solutions to engage drone threats globally. The MOU is designed to encourage collaboration on a new drone integration for the benefit of both L3Harris’ and Skydagger’s customers.
“This MOU brings together Skydagger’s new and affordable C-UxS drone technology with L3Harris’ proven capabilities in drone detection and defeat,” said Tom Kirkland, President, Targeting & Sensor Systems, Communications & Spectrum Dominance, L3Harris. “The VAMPIRE system’s modularity allows it to integrate with new kinetic and non-kinetic effectors and adapt to the rapidly evolving C-UxS mission.”
“L3Harris’ combat-proven system is the perfect conduit to showcase our C-UxS drone innovation,” said Mehmet Oztekin, General Manager, Skydagger Technologies. “L3Harris’ manufacturing and integration expertise will help us deliver new drone interceptor technology to meet growing operational needs worldwide.”
L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has been selected by the U.S. Army to deliver VAMPIRE™ counter-unmanned systems (c-UxS) to support urgent defense against hostile drones. The Army’s order is worth up to $106 million as part of the United States’ layered c-UxS defense approach. The VAMPIRE capability is a self-contained weapons solution that delivers advanced reconnaissance and precision strike against drones and remotely piloted aircraft. Military forces have used the technology extensively in support of European combat operations, logging more than 350,000 operational hours since 2023. L3Harris developed and invested in VAMPIRE at the beginning of the war in Ukraine to provide a low-cost solution to eliminate Russian drone threats. In 2026, L3Harris initiated high-volume production of the VAMPIRE system in Huntsville, Alabama. The new production line is a direct response to the United States and its allies’ need to combat the persistent drone threat.
