Finland and Latvia together with Patria have signed a Frame Agreement for a production phase management of the joint 6×6 armoured vehicle system. Within this agreement the parties involved can exercise joint procurement management, achieving technical and economic benefits from the overall procurement scope of the programme. At the same time, Latvia and Patria signed a supply contract comprising over 200 pieces 6×6 armoured personnel carriers developed under the joint development programme, also including their support and training systems. The vehicle deliveries will take place between 2021 and 2029. Finland and Patria in turn signed a Letter of Intent on the forthcoming serial order of Finland. The joint programme is open to other countries with the mutual consent of the participating countries. In general, this common vehicle system will improve the mobility, cost-effectiveness, interoperability, and security of supply of armies in the participating countries.

Patria 6×6 vehicle is built on the heritage of legendary Patria XA series as well as on the success of Patria AMV 8×8 that have become an iconic part of the various peacekeeping and crises management missions and transporting soldiers. Patria 6×6 is modular and high-performance, but at the same time simple, robust and affordable to provide this tactical capability in larger fleet quantities. It provides modern protection and extreme mobility. Patria 6×6 is perfect for any combat support roles and therefore Patria presented Patria 6×6 with Patria Nemo turret at the DSEI London 2019. Patria 6×6 is primarily designed for troop transport, but can be configured for other roles as well. Affordability in procurement together with low through-life costs throughout the long expected service life, more than 30 years, have been design guidelines from the beginning. Vehicle maintenance, repair and system upgrades have been taken into account too.

Robust and fully independent suspension, which is similar to Patria AMVXP, together with high performance engine ensures unforeseen mobility and crew comfort in the 6×6 category. Patria 6×6 carries up to 10 dismounts plus a crew of two, driver and commander, in the front cabin, or 8-9 dismounts and a crew of three, driver, commander and gunner; all their equipment being hosted inside the protected hull, and equipment being based on a 72-hour mission requirement. High payload capability ensures that with the protection level STANAG level 4 (optional), there is enough payload for various vehicle variants and equipment. This high payload capability ensures the protection level STANAG level 4 is available to the vehicle. Patria 6×6’s modular design allows a wide variety of specific configurations for diverse missions. High level of protection, unique mobility and the latest technology bring Patria 6×6 to deliver state-of-the-art AMV capabilities to face the highest demands.
